Progress Update: In September 2024, New Jersey released its final 2024 Statewide Water Supply Plan—the first comprehensive update since 1996. This landmark plan addresses climate change impacts, aging infrastructure, and emerging contaminants in our water supply.
While this represents significant progress, continued vigilance and advocacy are essential. The plan concludes that under normal conditions, New Jersey has adequate water supplies, but only if we take consistent action to address climate change threats, upgrade aging infrastructure, and manage emerging contaminants like PFAS.
Key Water Challenges Facing New Jersey:
New Jersey residents must continue to advocate for clean water protections, infrastructure investments, and sustainable water management practices. Contact your elected officials to ensure our water resources receive the attention and funding they need.
